Performance and workshop in Morocco, April 29 – May 6, 2013

Cartography of the Ecstatic

Getting to that exalted plateau of listening and sounding our own work  – poetry, song, instrumentation  – is the idea here.  Toward vibrational oral “play” and new modal structures. To make the walls of the city shake! The aim in this workshop is to experiment with ways our writing and performance ideas guide us to sonic ideas toward recorded – both video and audio  -composition and public performance. We will begin with “experiments of attention”, which includes “chance operation”, Sprechstimme, and work with cut-ups and dreams.  We will invite collaboration with one another as writers, as voices, and as musicians. Ambrose Bye will be recording and arranging the increments of our inspiration.

3 sessions: Wednesday, Thursday afternoon, friday morning
